    About

    Hello everyone!

Photo of Gladys surrounded by plants

Welcome to Forks & Foliage! My name is Gladys and I am the recipe developer, food stylist, photographer, obligatory taste tester, and plant mama behind this blog. Here at F&F, you'll find nothing but delicious recipes using seasonal ingredients with a Mediterranean influence.

I was born and raised in Lebanon to a Lebanese mother (and EXCEPTIONAL cook) and an Armenian father. Naturally, I grew up eating lots of fresh, seasonal foods packed with flavor. We moved to the US in 2004 and I quickly saw how different it was shopping for produce. Long gone were the days of going to the local market and buying fruits and vegetables at their peak ripeness during each season. To say I miss that part of life is an understatement.

As my love for cooking grew, so did my love for sourcing the best ingredients I can get my hands on. That's because I realized that a good meal starts with good ingredients. And if you have good ingredients, it doesn't take a whole lot to turn them into something amazing. In fact, one of my favorite summer eats in Lebanon was thick slices of super sweet and juicy heirloom tomatoes drizzled with rich, local olive oil and a sprinkle of salt, all wrapped up in fresh pita bread. So simple yet utterly delicious. I'm salivating just thinking about it.

Here at Forks & Foliage, it is my goal and passion to share with you recipes that will make your taste buds dance, all while teaching you how easy it is to cook with seasonal ingredients. My hope is that you walk away feeling inspired and encouraged to try something new, even with your own twist! So please take a look around and try one (or more) of my recipes. I promise you, you will not be disappointed! And please don't forget to rate and comment on my recipes - I'd love to hear how they turned out for you!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I appreciate your support more than you can imagine!

    Love,
    Gladys
